Former Royal Marine Commando Phil Ashby, 37, is a Dorset based professional
climbing guide and the best selling author of "Unscathed".
He has over 20 years of mountaineering experience from around the world
and an intimate knowledge of the Purbeck World Heritage Site and its thrilling
sea-cliff climbing. He was awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal in 2001 and
planned the BAFTA award winning BBC TV Series “Serious Arctic” in 2004.
He is a fully insured member of the Association of British Mountain Guides
and holds the Mountaineering
Instructors Award. Phil prides himself on providing safe but challenging
sessions which will leave you feeling exhilarated and inspired.
Taster: A half day of easy climbing and abseiling for total beginners.
Basic: Introductory sessions for novice climbers on easily accessible cliffs such as Dancing Ledge, Anvil Point and Winspit Quarry (from Difficult to Severe)
Intermediate: Multi-pitch climbing on more testing cliffs requiring abseil approaches above the sea. Venues include Cattle Troughs and Cormorant Ledge (from Severe to Very Severe)
Advanced: Demanding climbs of Very Severe and above on Swanage’s most challenging cliffs such as Guillemot Ledge. Clients can also choose to learn how to lead-climb.

Phil provides all the necessary safety equipment including harnesses,
helmets and ropes and is always ready to help with advice, so please
call us if you are not sure whether we can fit in with your plans.
All climbing packages can be tailored to your individual requirements.
